CQ...CQ...CQ..THIS IS 9W2OPT STANDING BY.....

Recently the District's Rover Crew was invited to participate in an exhibition organised by the RAKAN MUDA DAERAH LARUT MATANG DAN SELAMA.

They were asked to display something about basic Amateur Radio to the public.

Mr.Mahizam (9W2ZPT ), the ADC for the District Rovers and Mr.Nizam (9W2 NPT ), the crew leader sat together and put up a booth displaying activities relating to amateur radio.The response from the public was good.Many asked information about amateur radio known to the majority of them as...oh...walkie talkie.Can't blame them It's still new in Malaysia.

Anyway, with the help from fellow ADCs, ( 9W2 BPT, 9W2XPT, 9W2HPT, 9W2OPT and a few other papa tangos -PT...Pengakap Taiping )........., I can say that the show was a success. The visitors had first hand experience on the gadgets displayed.

The different types of antenas and radio sets displayed gave them enough knowledge about basic amateur radio.When they heard about JOTA and JOTI, they were startled......trying to imagine how on earth thousands of scouts around the world camp on the same day and if they are lucky enough they can communicate with each other.....miles and miles away.....wonder how, eh!!!....Be a scout and everything is possible....how proud I am, to be part of the scouting movement.
